Office and Support Staff

Meet the Front Office Staff

Lesa Higgins

Lesa Higgins, Principal's Secretary
[email protected]
Lesa started her career at the Arabian Horse Registry in Westminster, CO. She left the Registry to stay home and raise her two daughters for several years. When they started school, she decided that if she was going to go back to work, she'd try to get a schedule that fit with school. So she was a paraprofessional in Denver Public Schools for several years before deciding to go back to school and become a librarian. She worked in Jeffco for 9 years as a librarian at various schools. After some family crises in 2017 she decided to pursue a path that would allow more family time so she moved into Governor's Ranch's office where she enjoys working with the office team and the families of GRE.

Laura Fennell, Enrollment Secretary

Growing up in small town Texas, Mrs. Fennell loved her horse, Chico, cheered for the home team on Fridays, and rode the family’s proudly trained (by her dad) pet longhorn named Diego. Therefore, when it came time for college, choosing The University of Texas at Austin was a no-brainer. Mrs. Fennell had fun floating the Comal River and taking in the live music, but then, it was time to move on. She packed one big bag and landed in rural Thailand where she found herself teaching high school English. Mrs. Fennell still misses her hot pink moped, walking alongside elephants, the food and people there. After teaching around Asia, she dabbled in the world of fine dining, became a sommelier in downtown Chicago, but says it wasn’t until she moved to Denver and met her Colorado native, Marine Corps husband that her adventures really began. These days she enjoys family time, thrift stores, every holiday except Valentine’s, compiling family tree research, and sea glass hunting whenever she gets the chance. Mrs. Fennell loves life in Governor’s Ranch and doesn’t think you’ll ever meet a happier school secretary.

Kara Marshall, Health Aide

Mrs. Marshall loves being unique, Christmas, puppies, coffee, jokes, smiles, music, camping, hiking, sports, and the outdoors. She is not new to Jeffco, as she was previously a Health Aide at another elementary school in the area for four years. She has three amazing children! Her oldest daughter Teagan is a Junior in college and she plays Women's Soccer. Riley, her middle daughter, is a freshman in college and plays Softball. Her Son Brian is a Senior at Columbine High School and plays Boys Soccer. She enjoys spending time with her Family and her dogs doing all kinds of fun activities. She loves being at GRE keeping students healthy and safe, and connecting with Students and Families. She is so happy to be a part of the GRE community!
