Alicia Fischer
Mrs. Alicia Fischer
Mrs. Fischer is excited to begin her fourth year teaching at Governor’s Ranch, and her 15th year of teaching in Jefferson County. Most of her time has been spent in fourth grade with an additional two years in third and one year in seventh grade. Teaching is Mrs. Fischer’s second career; her first career was in corporate wellness where she taught adults how to live healthy. While working in corporate wellness she was also coaching cross country at Evergreen High School. Coaching was what made her realize she wanted to work with kids, and therefore went back to school in order to pursue a career in teaching. Outside of work she enjoys her family life with her husband of 18 years, Brent, and her 9-year-old son, Zach. She loves watching Zach play baseball, football, and basketball. In addition she enjoys sharing her love of hiking with Zach in the summer, and winters are spent skiing with the entire family. Mrs. Fischer is very happy to be working at Governor’s Ranch, and looks forward to starting a new year!

Helen Noakes
Mrs. Helen Noakes
Mrs. Noakes is thrilled to be returning to Governor’s Ranch and move from third grade to fourth this year. Ms. Noakes’ teaching journey started in 1986 after graduating from Indiana University (go Hoosiers). She spent her first year coordinating and teaching a G/T enrichment program near Indianapolis, IN. This was followed by five years of teaching first grade in Ft. Wayne, IN. Upon making the move to Colorado in 1991, she continued teaching with time spent in kindergarten, first grade and a first/second grade combination at Stein and Mitchell Elementary Schools. After her son Sam was born, she left education to stay home with him. During this time, she earned an associate's degree from the Art Institute of Colorado in photography. Working for a portrait studio part-time for about 12 years enabled her to have a flexible schedule, which in turn allowed her to raise her son as well as photograph. Since her return to the classroom, Ms. Noakes spent three years at Peiffer Elementary in intervention K-6, Kindergarten and third grade. Last year she was happy to start here at GRE. In her free time, she loves taking long walks with her dogs and spending time with friends and family. She has a passion for travel, especially in Europe as she was born and raised in Germany where most of her family still resides. As a lifelong learner, Mrs. Noakes’ goal as an educator is to help foster a love for learning in her students. She strives to provide a safe and friendly learning environment, which challenges all students to reach their highest potential. With a great community, staff and students, Mrs. Noakes is looking forward to this, her 20th year of teaching.

Gail Walls
Ms. Gail Walls
Ms. Walls’ education started at Hart's Hill Elementary School where it was possible to ski at Snow Ridge in the morning and be back in time for Mrs. Creaser's Kindergarten class in the afternoon. She graduated from Harding University, "Near the foothills of the Ozarks, midst of hill and plain." It wasn't long after graduation that the seed was planted; the teaching bug bit her. Years later she went back to school at UCD to make that dream come true. She is blessed to work with the children at Governor's Ranch and their families.
