Meet our Teachers

Ashley Hickey
Mrs. Ashley Hickey
Mrs. Hickey is excited to be teaching at Governor’s Ranch where she went to school once upon a time. Mrs. Hickey attended the University of Colorado Boulder for her undergrad and Regis University for her Master of Education degree. She has taught fifth and sixth grade over the course of the last nine years and is looking forward to the new adventure as she begins her tenth year teaching. She works with Scholastic Books as a Teacher Advisor to improve reading experiences for students in classrooms across the country. Mrs. Hickey is married to her college sweetheart, Brian, and they have two boys, Mason (4), and Bode (2). Outside of teaching, Ashley is passionate about running and reading. She is currently training for her tenth marathon - the New York Marathon and has a giant TBR (To Be Read) pile. She also enjoys cross-country and downhill skiing, cooking, and reading to her two boys (sharing Harry Potter can’t come soon enough).
Gail Walls Bitmoji
Ms. Gail Walls
Ms. Walls’ education started at Hart's Hill Elementary School where it was possible to ski at Snow Ridge in the morning and be back in time for Mrs. Creaser's Kindergarten class in the afternoon. She graduated from Harding University, "Near the foothills of the Ozarks, midst of hill and plain." It wasn't long after graduation that the seed was planted; the teaching bug bit her. Years later she went back to school at UCD to make that dream come true. She is blessed to work with the children at Governor's Ranch and their families.
Alicia Fischer
Mrs. Alicia Fischer
Mrs. Fischer is excited to begin her fifth year teaching at Governor’s Ranch, and her 16th year of teaching in Jefferson County. Most of her time has been spent in fourth grade with an additional two years in third and one year in seventh grade. Teaching is Mrs. Fischer’s second career; her first career was in corporate wellness where she taught adults how to live healthy. While working in corporate wellness she was also coaching cross country at Evergreen High School. Coaching was what made her realize she wanted to work with kids, and therefore went back to school in order to pursue a career in teaching. Outside of work she enjoys her family life with her husband of 19 years, Brent, and her 10-year-old son, Zach. She loves watching Zach play baseball, football, and basketball. In addition she enjoys sharing her love of hiking with Zach in the summer, and winters are spent skiing with the entire family. Mrs. Fischer is very happy to be working at Governor’s Ranch, and looks forward to starting a new year!
