School Accountability Committee
Governor's Ranch Elementary School Accountability Committee (SAC) meetings are generally on the second Monday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m. SAC fulfills the requirements as outlined by the Colorado Revised Statute 22-11-402 including:
- Making recommendations to the school principal regarding "school priorities for spending school moneys"
- Advising the principal "concerning the preparation of a school performance or school improvement plan"
- Meeting at least quarterly " to discuss whether school leadership, personnel, and infrastructure are advancing or impeding implementation of the public school's performance, improvement, priority improvement, or turn around plan, whichever is applicable"
- Providing input to the district accountability committee (DAC) or district administration concerning principal development plans and principal evaluation
- Increasing parent engagement
At each meeting, the agenda provides time to:
- Convey Information – Discuss issues impacting GRE and the District as well as provide detail about upcoming events
- Identify Issues/Concerns – Parents, staff, students, and people from the surrounding community are encouraged to identify problems or concerns regarding actions, activities or behaviors at GRE. Discussion of the issues and identification of possible corrective actions are made in partnership with the principal for consideration.
- Share Topics of Interest – Other topics can be presented. The committee appreciates suggestions and comments to improve the school environment.
Typically we meet in person in the Raccoon Den (room B-200). All families are encouraged to attend, and due to the pandemic all visitors are required to wear masks inside the building.
