Sign Up to be a Watch DOG Today: WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Overview To all fathers and father figures, I am pleased to announce that at GRE the Watch D.O.G.S. program is in full swing. For the 2024-2025 school year, a new signup genius (SUG) with tabbed trimesters, has been created with multiple time slots to allow for greater participation. For each time slot two volunteers can sign up. The new time slots and link to the 2024-2025 SUG are listed in the "What to Expect" section below. |

Meet Our Top DOG For fathers and father figures that are new to GRE, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Zach Ingalls and I have been the Top D.O.G. at GRE since August of 2019 and have enjoyed every minute. Sadly, this year will be my last year as the TOP D.O.G. as my youngest will be moving onto middle school at the end of the year. If you would like to take over the program for the 26-27 school year and beyond, myself, Bill or Ryan would love to talk with you. Please take some time to visit our GRE website site under the Clubs & Programs tab to learn more about the program and if you have any questions, you can email me directly at watchdogs@grepta.org. We look forward to meeting all the fathers, grandfathers and anyone who wants to participate as we work towards our goal of a DAD a day. As an incentive, if you volunteer as a Watch D.O.G. four (4) times you will receive the coveted GRE Watch D.O.G.S. T-shirt. I will be checking the sign-up genius monthly. Note: the shirts run a small so go up a size. |

What to Expect To increase participation in the Watch D.O.G.S. program, we offer a variety of time slots that are listed below:
Typically, a normal day for a Watch dog is an all-day event at the school. If you are unable to commit to the 7+ hours of the typical Watch dog day, please choose other available time slots. We would rather have more dads involved in some capacity than insist on having full-day volunteers only. Apart from student arrival, midday recesses and lunches, and student dismissal, your schedule can be flexible. Spend time in your child's classroom, or pursue activities or subjects of interest to you, even art, music, or PE. If you're ever unsure where to go next, be sure to ask in the front office if any teachers have special requests for the Watch DOG or help out in the school library. On Fridays at 2:00 p.m. the Watchdog will oversee gathering the recycling from the classrooms with the help of students. |
