Hello Governor's Ranch Families, Prospective Families, and Community Members:

Welcome to Governor's Ranch Elementary, home of the Raccoons! I’m honored to serve as interim principal for the 2026-2027 school year.  As a 30+ year career educator in Jeffco Public Schools, I have heard about the Governor's Ranch welcoming community.  Everything I have heard is true!  Since my first visit to our school in the spring, students, teachers, and parents have truly demonstrated that everyone is welcome here!

Students at Governor's Ranch Elementary will grow, relate, and engage throughout their learning in our school. Our students will grow academically and emotionally with the support of our experienced and knowledgeable staff. In addition, our students learn to relate to each other.  This happens in group learning in the classroom, playing with friends at recess and through direct instruction.   Our students are learning how to engage in their learning, how to be active learners, work with others and listen to others.  

Every day at Governor’s Ranch our students will learn to persevere in all that they do.  Our students learn to ask for help when they need it, learn from mistakes and try again.   Additionally, we invest deeply in ourselves and others. This means trying hard, taking risks, and demonstrating kindness to others.   We are also leaders of our own learning at GRE. Our students learn to set goals, talk about their learning and explain their thinking.  
 

The students and staff at Governor’s Ranch also honor each other and are thankful.  We learn to use kind words, be kind and celebrate our accomplishments.   GRE is a GREAT school and we work hard to make a difference in the lives of all of our students. 


I encourage returning and new dads (or another male role model) to be a Watch D.O.G. Watch D.O.G. volunteers are a crucial component of our school’s positive culture and serve as an additional measure of security. Plus, you get to play football and have recess again—what could be better?!

I also hope that you’ll join the Governor's Ranch PTA. Last year PTA provided the school with countless hours of volunteer service and thousands of dollars in direct financial contributions.
